My Priorities

Being present and responsive is at the heart of my commitment to Boston. I take pride in:​

• Showing up in every neighborhood: Attending community meetings, events, and being accessible to residents across the city.​
• Responding promptly to constituent concerns: Whether it's a missed trash pickup, a pothole, or navigating city services, I ensure that every call and message is met with attention and action.​
• Collaborating with city departments: Working closely with various departments to address and resolve quality of life issues efficiently.​

Education is the cornerstone of our city's future. Having taught in Boston Public Schools for more than 20 years, I know firsthand the strengths and areas needing improvement. I'm committed to:​

• Ensuring access to high-quality public schools in every neighborhood.​
• Advocating for a comprehensive vocational high school and inclusive options for special needs students.​
• Providing trauma training for educators and expanding affordable, enriching after-school programs.​

Public health is a pressing concern, especially regarding mental health and substance use disorders. As Co-Chair of the Council’s Committee on Public Health, Homelessness, and Recovery, I am focused on:​

• Increasing access to recovery services and addressing mental health needs.
• Supporting the rebuilding of the Long Island Bridge to establish a comprehensive recovery campus.​
• Advocating for equitable distribution of treatment services across all neighborhoods.​ 

Safety is a fundamental right for all residents. As a mother raising my family in Dorchester, I prioritize:​

• Supporting community policing and the Boston Police Department's cadet program to recruit residents from all neighborhoods.​
• Ensuring safe streets for everyone, regardless of time or location.​
• Empowering residents through access to quality education, activities, and job opportunities for youth.​

Affordable housing is essential for maintaining the diversity and vibrancy of our city. I am dedicated to:​

• Expanding middle-income affordable housing lotteries.​
• Enhancing oversight of development projects to ensure meaningful community input.​
• Preserving existing affordable housing units to prevent displacement and maintain community stability.​

Transparency and accountability are vital for effective governance. I strive to:​

• Ensure open communication between the administration and the City Council.​
• Advocate for responsible budgeting and allocation of city resources.​
• Maintain consistent and honest engagement with constituents across all neighborhoods.
